ISA Publications Committee Meeting

I was thrilled to visit Taipei again after the pandemic, this time for the International Sociological Association’s executive committee meeting. More specifically, I was there in my capacity as the editor for Current Sociology Monographs and SSIS book series. It was great to spend a few days with this group of lovely people.

Academia Sinica was such a great host (and they have the most practical tote bag for academics! =). Apart from finally meeting a couple of sociologists that I’ve been corresponding with at the Academia, it was also great to reconnect with colleagues at the National Taiwan University.

I needed to return to the UK a day early, but fortunately, I was able to join the group tour at Tshim-Kau Village in Yilan, where the activism shaped what I call the ‘Good Food Movement‘ in Mainland China. From there, I was driven to the airport with the most amazing home-cooked bento box from the local CSA group! And how impressive it was that I sat with it, smelled it, but restrained myself from eating it in the car for a very long 90 minutes! =D
